Compton G.IRLS Club is an organization that works with girls and gender non-conforming youth within underserved communities. We enrich our participants' lives by providing access to quality workshops, field trips, and unique experiences otherwise not accessible to them. We intentionally select mentors and teachers with similar backgrounds so they can see themselves mirrored in our hosts. Doing this helps us foster pride within our youth and the communities they are from.
Girls and gender non-conforming youth in underestimated communities tend to lack access to quality cultural capital and extracurricular activities. It is our goal to make these resources available and within reach.
With access to these resources, the members will have the building blocks for healthy self-esteem, pride, and growth. Our efforts will enable those who benefit from them to acquire new knowledge, improve their skills, and become a source of inspiration for the upcoming generation of girls in their communities.
